Gynaecological problems affect millions of women worldwide
They include diseases of the ovaries, tubes, uterus, cervix, vagina, vulva and pelvic floor. They may present with problems of the periods (heavy, irregular etc.), pain, soreness, sexual dysfunction, urinary incontinence, bladder infection, genital prolapse, Premenstrual tension (PMT) symptoms, abnormal cervical cytology tests (smears), etc.
There are numerous guidelines for management of gynaecology conditions from various professional bodies e.g. RCOG, NICE, etc. The aim of the "Update Issues" is to provide an up-to-date, concise summary of these guidelines which is relevant to "Primary Care".
