Private Medical Insurance

Please seek an authorization from your medical insurance company prior to each consultation, test or procedure (investigation or surgery).

If it is decided during you consultation that you need an investigation or a surgical procedure, you will be given a written confirmation of procedure name and its code (OPCS code). You need to contact your insurance company with theses details to get a pre-authorization number.

Seeking prior authorization is very important because the ultimate responsibility for paying for the private medical treatment is the patient.

Many companies have not changed their level of cover in years despite significant rises in inflation and medical indemnity costs.

However you will not be charged any more than what your insurance company allows for the Gynaecologist' fee for investigations and surgical procedures [but not including individual policy excess, restrictions and exclusions]. A shortfall for Anaesthetist's fee may be applicable.

All bills will be sent automatically to your insurance company except if we are instructed otherwise.

Self-Funding

If you are self-funding or you medical insurance company will not cover the treatment cost, please request a confirmation of the cost of each consultation, test, investigation or procedure (investigation or surgery)

f you are booked for an investigation or a procedure, we will contact the hospital (Esperance Private Hospital or Michelham Unit at DGH) for the hospital cost of the treatment.  We will confirm the total cost of your treatment (hospital fee which contribute to a major part of the total cost + consultant fee + consultant anaesthetist fee, if applicable).

The BMI Esperance Private Hospital provides a fixed price with no extra payment if there is a change in the course of treatment due to medical indication.

You will need to settle the consultation fee at the end of your clinic visit. A “receipt of payment” is issued.

You can spread the cost of all aspects of your treatment, interest-free over 12 months (BMI Card)

This incudes consultations, tests, investigations and surgical procedures. This is issued by BMI Healthcare group which incudes the Esperance Private Hopsital.
